In Norway, our operation delivers world-class efficiency and customer value, and we want to replicate the success in Germany. On our journey to establish ourselves in the German market, we are looking for a Director of People that will implement and drive the People agenda across our local organisation.
As Director of People in Berlin, you will be one of our first team members in Germany and a vital part of our growth. You will lead, implement and develop the People strategy for Germany from scratch. Part of your job is to independently lead projects and to ensure that people-focused policies will be implemented. You are a champion when it comes to German work regulations and working with trade unions. To master the implementation of the People strategy and to align with our business goals, you will be working closely with our Managing Director of Germany, our Chief of New Markets and our Chief People Officer.

What you’ll do

    • Implement the People strategy for Germany, in line with Oda’s Global Strategy and behaviours
    • Outline the objectives for the People organisation, build the People team and develop processes from scratch to enable success
    • Lead projects independently, aligned with the Global Strategy
    • Work closely with the local Leadership team and with the global teams in Oslo and Berlin to define the success for the People team
    • Facilitate salary negotiations, including cooperations with trade unions
    • Define the strategy for Compensation & Benefits in Germany, along with the global Director of Compensation & Benefits
    • Be an ambassador of our behaviors and actively bring them to live throughout all internal and external interactions
    • Ensure high visibility, focus and delivery of People activities locally and globally
    • Be an active member of the Oda People community learning, supporting colleagues in Germany, Norway and Finland

The following will probably be helpful

    • A proven track of developing and implementing People processes, ideally in a start-up or scale-up environment
    • Experience creating, prioritizing and following up on goals and objectives within the People function
    • Experience collaborating with management teams, and draw on competence from specialists in areas such as global mobility, learning and development and employer branding to improve the people function
    • + 5 years relevant experience within HR / People, ideally with + 2 years experience of working with legal authorities in Germany
    • Higher education in HR management or other relevant fields
    • Fluent in both German and English as we are an international bunch of people
